Burress posts $100K bail on weapons charges
Plaxico Burress has appeared in court on weapons possession charges stemming from an accidental shooting at a Manhattan nightclub.
Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Felicia Mennin set bail at $100,000 and ordered Burress to return March 31.
Defense lawyer Benjamin Brafman argued for no bail, saying: "He has 35 million reasons to come back to court" - referring to his $35 million contract with the Giants.

Plaxico Burress was led out of a police precinct in handcuffs Monday after surrendering on a weapons possession charge, and authorities said that teammate Antonio Pierce is being investigated over his role in an accidental shooting at a Manhattan nightclub.

Torn MCL to sideline Anderson for season
Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson is out for the rest of the season after tearing a knee ligament in Sunday's game against Indianapolis.
An MRI revealed Anderson tore the medial collateral ligament in his left knee when he was sacked in the final minutes of Cleveland's 10-6 loss. Anderson, making his first start since Nov. 2 after being benched for Brady Quinn, will not need surgery. He will be placed in a brace and will need four to six weeks to recover.

Pats to battle Bucs in London in 2009
The New England Patriots will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next season at Wembley Stadium, the third straight year the NFL will stage a regular-season game in the British capital.
The game will be played Oct. 25. The Bucs will be listed as the home team, giving up a game in Tampa.
"Over the past two years, we have seen first-hand the excitement that exists for our sport in the UK," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday in a statement.
