Pandora Internet Radio has been around for some time now. You can setup your own stations based on artists that you like. They have an enormous database that they draw samples from. You enter the artist that you like to get your station setup and from there on they play music from similar artists. You can give the artists a 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' during playback to let Pandora know if you like their style or not. If not, Pandora moves on and switches styles.

It's really amazing how it works and is very easy to use.
