Songbird is an amazingly simple to use media player developed on the Mozilla platform. It's open source and has many addons and customizations that you can do to it.

For example, if you want a different look to it, you can simply create a new one using CSS and HTML or download a 'feather' that has already been created. A feather is simply a skin for the media player fitting the name of the player!

It's super easy to import your media files. I imported over 4500 mp3's in less than two minutes. Songbird even read the metadata out of mp3 files and organized my library with artist, album and date (year).

You can search for music through Skeemr or buy mp3's from Insound.

If you're an iTunes fan and already have an established iTunes library, Songbird makes it extremely easy to import your whole iTunes library straight in. I'm a PC user and the first thing that Songbird asked me was if I had an iTunes library file that I wanted to import.

All around a clean media player with something to offer everyone.
